How to Pack Efficiently

Packing is one of the most important tasks during a move, because when you think about it, moving is really about getting your packages - with your things inside - from your old place to the new.

One thing to remember when packing is to always choose your boxes carefully. There are different sizes of boxes, and while the medium and large sizes are the most common, you should also consider irregular sizes that may better fit certain things you own. Small boxes, in particular, are very effective storage for smaller items that may tend to get damaged or lost in bigger boxes. You can then place these small boxes in bigger ones. Also, when using boxes, make sure to never reach the weight limit for each box, always leaving some allowance from the actual carry load to the weight limit.

When packing breakable objects, use buffers like bubble wrap and packing peanuts, or even old foam or newspapers to serve as shock absorbers for the trip ahead. Also do not forget to label these boxes as ‘Fragile' on all sides, conspicuously so that whoever handles the package will know the kind of contents inside. Also make an inventory of your items so that it will be easier to account for them later.
