Accessorial Charges: charges for additional services such as packing, unpacking, extra pick-ups).

Advanced Charges: charges for services requested other than the movers.

Appliance Service: Cost for fixing and preparing appliances for moving or transportation.

Bill of Lading: Contract that is drafted between you and the mover for transportation of your items.

Binding Estimate: The flat rate or cost given to you by a moving company after seeing your inventory (or items that need to be moved). This rate remains the same no matter how many days it takes to move your items.

Non-binding Estimate: A rate or cost given by a moving company without seeing your actual inventory. This price may change after finalising and transporting all your items and can be based per hour or per day.

Carrier: The company that you hire to transport your items.

Claim: The refund or the demand you can ask from your moving company if there is any damage done to your items after moving.

CP (Carrier Packed): Items packed by your moving company.

Destination Agent: A person assigned by your moving company to assist you regarding your shipment when you arrive in your new neighbourhood.

Gross Weight: This is the term used for the total weight of the mover's truck with all your items and furniture inside.

High-Value Inventory: This refers to items that have a high value or cost such as paintings, jewelry and antiques.

Flight Charge or Stair Carry: Extra charge you pay if the mover has to carry furniture and boxes up and down flights of stairs.

Speed-Up Service or Expedited Service: Agreement you make with your moving company to complete the transportation of your items on a specific date. You may be charged extra for this.
