Three Basic Rules in Packing Your Precious Possessions for a Move

Even though you can't wait to move into your dream house, there is no excuse to carelessly toss all your possessions into the boxes.  Curb your enthusiasm and remember these packing tips so you can protect your belongings and move efficiently. 1.
Gather enough packing supplies When closing the bottom seams of the box, don't fold in the flaps. Instead, seal it with packing tape. This method is increases the capacity of the box to hold heavy items. Gather plenty of cushions as well to protect the breakables. Refrain from using newsprint as they may leave unsightly marks to the items being packed. 2.
Create layers A good layer of crumpled paper must be placed at the bottom of each box. Put in the heavy items first and make sure they fit snugly together to avoid shifting. When packing dishes, be sure to wrap them before you stack them into the box. Be careful not to place more than four plates in each box. 3.
Fill the gaps If there is still room in the box, be sure to fill it with crumpled paper or linens to keep them items from shifting during the transit.  Seal the box properly and label its contents plus the room they belong to. Boxes are the best packing tools for your belongings. It the item may fit into a box, use a box. This method not only protects your possessions effectively, but makes packing and loading easier and faster.
